The Premier Global IT Forum

Now in its 26th year, the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is the premier forum of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), a growing consortium of over 65 information technology associations representing over 90 percent of the world IT market.

Once every two years WCIT brings together the most influential business leaders, researchers and policy makers to chart the future of IT. Approximately 2,000 delegates will form valuable new alliances, discuss today's most pressing IT and policy issues, and establish the direction of future innovation.

Texas Hosts World Congress 2006

In 2002, Texas was chosen from numerous competing locales throughout the world to host WCIT 2006. The World Congress will be held in the state's capital city. Austin is known for its mild climate, rolling terrain, creative culture and thriving high-tech industry. The city's state-of-the-art convention center will function as WCIT 2006 headquarters.

WCIT 2006 will be held in Austin, Texas from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 5, 2006. The World Congress begins with a two-day Global Business Forum, convening today's fastest growing technology companies from around the globe. The actual WCIT forum begins on the third day and features a wide variety of keynotes, panel discussions and break-out sessions led by today's most influential IT leaders. It all takes place at the state-of-the-art Austin Convention Center.

Fortune 500 executives, leading researchers, heads of state and high-level ministers will converge at WCIT 2006 to exchange ideas, form new relationships and lay the groundwork for tomorrow's information technology.
