April 2-4, 2003 - 6th Annual Russian Economic Forum,London

Plans are now well underway for what promises to be the largest ever Russian Economic Forum in London this April. 2003 promises to be a landmark year for the Forum, with President Putin's scheduled State Visit to London in June, the first by a Russian leader since 1844, and significant British involvement in the festivities marking the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. This year also marks the 450th anniversary in diplomatic relations between Russia and Great Britain.

Confirmed speakers include Sir John Egan, President of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI); Peter Aven, President of Alfa Bank; Victor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Executive Board, Tyumen Oil Company and President, SUAL Holding; Andrei Melnichenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors, MDM Financial Group; Roger Munnings, President and CEO, KPMG Russia and CIS; Alexander Lebedev, President, National Investment Council; Simon Kukes, President of Tyumen Oil Company; Boris Nemtsov, Leader of the Union of Right Forces Party; Sir Rocco Forte, Chairman of Rocco Forte Hotels.

The Forum will open on the evening of 2nd April, with the main conference sessions following on the 3rd and 4th. As always, an exhaustive afternoon programme will cover a range of carefully selected topics in greater depth, including Mining/Metals, Telecoms, Trade and Investment in St. Petersburg and the Northwest Region, Russia as a Global Political Player, Social Questions/the "Safety Net," Small/Medium Sized Business Development, and many other timely themes.
